Car Check UK is the website of Car Check: MOT & Tax Tracker, an iPhone app that helps UK drivers check cars and keep on top of their MOT and tax. The app is made by Samet Macit, an independent developer, and is rated highly by drivers on the App Store.
What we do
We turn official vehicle records into something anyone can understand in seconds. Enter a registration and you'll see the vehicle's tax and MOT status, its full MOT history, a mileage analysis and an ULEZ estimate, free and without signing up.
Where our data comes from
- DVLA Vehicle Enquiry Service: vehicle details, tax status and MOT status.
- DVSA MOT History API: MOT test results, odometer readings, defects and advisories.
- Experian: outstanding finance, stolen, write-off and other history records in the app's paid reports.
We're independent and not affiliated with, or endorsed by, DVLA, DVSA or any government body.
How we're funded
The free check is paid for by optional purchases in the app and by partners we recommend, such as webuyanycar for selling a car, BookMyGarage for MOTs and servicing, and Tyres.net for comparing tyre prices.
