Affiliate disclosure

How we keep the free car check free.

Last updated 25 October 2026

Car Check UK is free to use. We're funded by optional purchases in our iPhone app and by commission from some of the companies we link to. If you click one of these links and buy or book something, the company may pay us a fee. You don't pay any more because of it.

How affiliate links work

Links to partners open the partner's website in a new tab, and every page links to this disclosure from the footer. Affiliate links go through addresses starting /go/, which let us count clicks and pass a reference to the partner. They're tagged so search engines don't treat them as editorial links.

Our partners

  • webuyanycar: Free online valuation, then sell your car at one of 500+ UK branches. (via the Rakuten Advertising network)
  • BookMyGarage: Compare local garages on price, reviews and availability, then book online. (via the Awin network)
  • Tyres.net: Compare tyre prices by size across UK retailers, then buy from the one you choose. (via the Awin network)

Once you're on a partner's website, their terms and privacy policy apply, and their affiliate network may set cookies to record that you came from us.

Our editorial promise

  • The free check shows official DVLA and DVSA data exactly as it is. Partners have no influence over it.
  • We only recommend services that are relevant to what you're doing, like booking an MOT when yours is due.
  • Our guides are written to be useful first. We describe partners accurately and don't promise prices or results.
